Amendment to S 2766: Government Wide Contracting Out and Whistleblower Protections Amendment.
June 14, 2006 – Warner (VA), motion to table (kill) the Dorgan (ND), amendment that would make several improvements to federal contracting and procurement laws and call for the suspension and debarment of unethical contractors, disclosure of audit reports by the head of each executive agency outlining unjustified contractor costs, and publication of information regarding federal contractor penalties and violations. It would bar monopoly contracts by requiring competition in contracting, ensure protections for whistleblowers and eliminate the revolving door between federal personnel and contractors. Motion agreed to 55-43.

June 21, 2006 – Kennedy (MA), amendment that would raise the federal minimum wage to $5.85 per hour and to $7.25 per hour by 2009. Rejected 52-46. (60 votes required under Senate Rules).

H Con Res 376: Fiscal 2007 Budget Resolution - Republican Study Committee Substitute.

May 18, 2006.  Hensarling, (TX), substitute amendment that would instruct eight committees to produce $358.3 billion in saving through reconciliation between fiscal 2007 and 2011.  Proponents of this resolution have suggested these cuts should come by raising FEHBP premiums for retirees and changing "high-three" to "high-five" for retirement, cutting retirement benefits for federal workers.  It would eliminate about 150 federal programs and restructure the departments of Commerce, Energy and Education.  Rejected 94-331.
